Rules & Terms

Gameplay

  • This tournament is occurring on Sunday December 27th, 2020 at 5 PM MST. Every player must be in the lobby waiting by 4:45 PM on December 27th, 2020. 

  • 3 Person Teams, no Duos or Solos. Must sign up as a crew of 3. 

    • To a maximum of 50 total teams or 150 total players

  • 5 Total Rounds of Warzone 

  • After 5 rounds the team with the most points between all 5 rounds will be the winner. 2nd most points will be 2nd, and so on and so forth. 

  • Game mode will either be Mini-Royale or regular Warzone depending on the total number of entrants (16 teams/48ppl & under for Mini-Royale and 17 teams/51ppl & over for Warzone)

  • No Launcher or shotgun class weapons whatsoever - this includes pickups. Any use will result in a no refunds ban for the player. *Please vote on this rule in the sign-up form above!

  • Edmonton Warzone Tournament 2020 is open to players on all platforms, although cross-play must be enabled.

  • The primary organizers as well as sponsors do not condone playing in the same room as teammates or opponents due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and the regulations set by Alberta Heath Services/your local health authority. All participants must adhere to local health guidelines in order to qualify for the tournament.

  • All participants must have a representative in the discord during the tournament to update organizers for scores and to receive updates from organizers.

    • It is highly recommended that at least one person from each team is tuned into the stream that day as this is where you will get the most information about the tournament and this will be where we announce the door prizes. The stream link will be on www.mikekunicki.com/warzone

    • After your team is eliminated you must submit a picture of your end game scoreboard to the discord as soon as your squad is eliminated. We recommend for console players to have discord logged into the mobile app and take photos of the screen. 

  • All participants must add Activision ID “Kunickler#9828357” as a friend on COD before the tournament to be added to the private match. 

  • Check-in in the discord #Check-in channel at 4pm MST to confirm your team is ready and warming up. (You do not need to warm up but it is recommended)

  • Disconnects - The tournament is not responsible for any sort of connection issues or disconnections. No restarts will be allowed. 

  • Updates - It is the players responsibility to make sure the game client is up to date. No delays will be permitted or refunds.

  • Streaming - Honor system for stream sniping. Since we have the landing page at mikekunicki.com/warzone we will be posting everyone's streams. If you are streaming we ask that you mention our sponsor ReConEx (Reliable Construction Experts - www.reliableconstructionexperts.com)

Financial

To qualify you must:

  1. E-Transfer michaelkunicki@gmail.com with your team entry fee of $30 ($10/person) no later than December 25th at 11:59PM. Your team name should be in the memo. 

  2. Fill out the entry form with details at mikekunicki.com/streamday2020 before December 25th at 11:59PM and declare the charity you are playing for! (All Charities MUST be Candian and listed with the CRA HERE)

  3. All participants must be residents of Canada since e-transfers are only a product associated with the Canadian banking system. We will not deal in international payouts of anyform.  

Prizes: 

  • The total prize pool will be 50% of the total entry fees collected

    • The remaining 50% will be donated to a charity of the winner’s choosing

      • We recommend: Hope Mission, Younglife East or West Edmonton, You Can Ride 2, Seniors with Skills among others. (All Charities MUST be Candian and listed with the CRA HERE

  • First place will receive 50% of the total prize pool, Second Place will receive 30% and Third Place will receive 20%. E-Transfers will be sent to the winning team captain within 48 hours from Mike Kunicki.

    • Example: 30 teams (30 x $30Total Team fee) = $900.00 Total Entry Pool. The Total Prize Pool would be 50% of this ($450.00). 1st would receive 50% of this ($450.00 x 0.5 = $225.00), 2nd would receive ($450.00 x 0.3 = $135.00) and 3rd would receive ($450.00 x 0.2 = $90.00)

  • Door Prizes - There will be door prizes provided by Reconex (Reliable Construction Experts - www.reliableconstructionexperts.com). These will be drawn by random number generator at set points throughout Mike Kunicki’s stream during the breaks and are for individual team members. These can be dropped off in person if the recipient is in the Edmonton Area or mailed should the recipient reside outside the Edmonton Area. 

  • The primary organizers - Brennan Murray and Mike Kunicki - are excluded from Door Prizes and will be subject to the same rules (including entry fees) as any other participant. They are not excluded from the 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize pools. 

  • Tie breakers - for any position at the end of the tournament.

    • 1ST METHOD - if points are tied - take the placement of the tied teams over the 5 matches and add them together. The team with the lowest combined number of placements will be the winner.

    • 2ND METHOD - Only if the points and placement totals are tied, then the tournament will be determined by total kill count. The team with the highest kill count between the two tied teams will win.

    • 3RD METHOD - Only if the 2 other methods above result in continuous ties is when we will combine and split the pots evenly and declare a tie for that position in the tournament.

Reports, Bans & Refunds

  • The primary organizers of the event reserve the right to ban anyone currently in the tournament or from the tournament for just cause. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis with the intention of creating a fair and fun atmosphere for the tournament. We will listen intently to reports of cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct and exploiting as well as crude language and verbal abuse. There will be zero tolerance for any of the aforementioned acts. 

  • Refunds will be determined on a case-by-case basis and only for extreme situations, such as serious family health emergencies.
